CPRI stands for "Common Public Radio Interface", which is a developing specification that defines the criteria of the internal interface of radio base stations between the Radio Equipment Control (REC) and the Radio Equipment (RE).
CPRI cables are specially designed for outdoor use, to fit FTTA applications. They are being used to replace copper or coax cable connections between a radio transceiver and a base station.
Fiber-to-the-antenna (FTTA) is a broadband network structure. In this structure, the optical fiber is used to connect the remote radio head (RRH) and the base station. Amplifiers are no longer needed in this structure.
FTTA Fiber Patch Cord is used for Fiber to the Antenna. It is usually duplex and built with water blocking aramid yarns and UV-resistant LSZH jacket. The cable diameter is 7.0mm or 4.8mm.
